    but it is slow.

But for people to ask what lens? without giving a description of what they are shoot and what they spend, most people just through out lenses that they have or would like to have. The 135mm maybe great but but not very effective if you need a 200 or 300mm. The 70-200 f2.8 IS is great but not if you only have $300 to spend.

Pat, if you want real answers you need to give real uses and budget.

As others have stated, the rule of thumb, faster-constaint adapters (f2.8 or f4) are best, IS is a must for telephoto handheld shooting. Combine the two and you are looking at expensive glass but well worth it.

to add, it is only SD and all the info that is on the viewfinder is sent. When using HDMI the LCD screen on the camera is off.

This is what Mac people have to do to use the DualAdapter. I have a HD that has 10.5 on it so I can transfer the P2 cards (but I can run FCP on that drive/OS combo also.

I was not talking about downscaling in the edit, I was recommending that the people test shooting 720 in camera, I would never say don’t do it but I always recommend that a person test the results. And do more then a quick grap a shoot and look, shoot a lot of different types of shots and look at the results.

Resizing on a timeline is a totally different thing.

    Some mis-information in that article.
“… transfer them wrapped up as a group for later transfer in a special way.”
There is no special wrapping of the card you just have to retain the card folder and file structure when copying the cards. (Just like you do with P2 cards)

Also you want to use a text editor like BBLite or TextWrangler and not TextEdit or a word processor to do the modification of the plugin plist file.

If you use proxy then Grinder is a no brainer, but I like the TOD TC that Log and Transfer adds to the clips in FCP.

I would test out shooting 720p on these cameras, For many the down conversion to 720p elevates some of the problems of shoot with these camera. Personally I would still with 1080p.

I believe YouTube maxs out at 1280×720, I would use a ProRes 720p @30p sequence.

I would test out a pic converted to tiff or png to see if that gives better RT playback over jpg.

If you don’t see the RT settings (SAFE, Unlimited and then settings for quality and framerate, your sequence is not set to the right codec and resolutions. You have to be using a RT friendly codec like ProRes for the compression and a video resolution like 1920×1080 (or 720p or 480)

Never use H264 in FCP, convert this footage to ProRes, search this forum it is covered a couple times a day.
