You are going to have to buy a new receiver for the release plate, so when you get the tripod, get a receiver/plate and then you have a backup plate.

To change midway through a shot you just have to add two keyfames. the in between will be the ramp of the color change.

That is not over saturated, that is over exposed. If the footage is blown out there is not much you can do about that, you can lower the highlights to legal limits but that doesn’t give you back the detail. There are some plugins that help ease the pain but they are not a fix.

mxf is just a way to handle/wrap the codec, it can be DVCProHD or AVC-Intra to a number of other things, my guess it is one of the other things. FCP does not support everything that is out there, especially some of the consumer cameras. You need to find out what camera it is. You can download a program called ClipWrap to see if that helps, it is $50 but they have a trial so you know if it will work before you spend the $$.

What do you mean by that, these cards should only be formatted by the camera or Panasonic Format App.Also what size card do you have and what record setting are you using. That is what a 16GB card would have for anything HD other than 720p@24pN.

You will never find anyone stating that CC is an easy and fast process, if you want it to be done right.
But your post is not that clear, are you doing “KEYING” which is used to knock out a color and replace it with other video or a still, such as when you shoot with a green screen, or are you talking about tinting each scene to a different color.
If tinting, and each cut is exposure the same and is white balanced the same you can make the CC and tinting to one clip and then drag it down to all the others within the scene, this gives you a starting point and then you can fine tune each clip.

But you would want to keep the framerate the same as your footage.

If the footage came from a P2 camera the video is either DVCProHD or AVC-Intra. Both are not a free codec, Panasonic gives them to a lot of NLE software apps and they are installed with the app. Do you know what camera they came from or better yet ask the FCP people what codec they were.
Then you will need to use software that is compatible with those codecs or purchase the codec and install it.
