If you use a loop point you cannot build any of the menu in DVDSP. You have to use an overlay file. This has always been the case.

Yes, there are no presets for CBR. You can start with any of the DVD video presets, the only difference is the bitrate spread and motion settings in the Quality tab. Change the Motion Est to Good since it does need to find places to lower the bitrate for averaging.

Compressor does not delete settings after making a droplet, at least it should not nor does it for me. Was this a preset you created or a standard Apple preset? If it is one of yours you may have clicked on the – button by mistake.

Here is the best workflow for the highest quality. SInce you have a low TRT (75 minutes) set up a CBR encode in Compressor. Make sure you keep frame rate and field dominance the same as source. You can set the bitrate to 7 Mbps. You will also need to encode the audio to ac3 (Dolby Digital) stereo is .192 Mbps.
Instead of exporting the QT movie out of FCP use Export to Compressor, this will tie up your system (both FCP and Compressor for the entire encode but it gives the best encodes from Compressor). When you do it this way your footage does not have to be rendered first.

Take a look at Scopebox.com – it is a bit pricey, no idea why there is such a jump in price to unlock HD version.

I personally use DVCPro50 or Pro Res for this process, but it never hurts to do your own testing. The only for sure thing is I never use DV25.
FWIW – I also use Cinematize because it is a one step process, rip to whatever QT codec I want. It can also demux to m2v/ac3 if you just want to reuse the assets on a new DVD project so there is no quality loss.

It has been awhile since I used the DVX but if I remember correctly only the 100B can accept TC in. If this is the model you have you can jam sync one camera to the other via a FW cable connected to both cameras, see the manual for the procedure. The down side to this IF you cannot leave the FW connect you can and will get TC drift from one camera to another if either one is turned off and on. You can start and stop but it is the off and on that causes a problem.
If you have match TC all you do is make a Multicam clip in FCP and set it to sync TC. Super easy and quick

Go to ~/Library/Application Support/ProApps and delete the file Final Cut Studio System ID
When you launch the any of the apps it will ask you for the Serial number and just enter the new retail copy one and you should be good to go. It will have to be the full retail version unless you have older retail serial numbers.
There is no difference in the app at all just changes the splash screen

OF course a lot depends on your system and amount of RAM.
But the fastest method is bringing in a self contained QT file that is exported out of FCP as “Current settings” into Compressor and use a CBR m2v encode. on my system (8-core) it would be less than an hour for the encode.
