I don’t see anything named that but after you choose a master template you click on the “Controls” tab in the viewer and that is where you add your movies and change the text. If you need to resize or change text styles you go back to Motion.

If you are using layered menus you have to arrow navigate or click on the button to change/select them. The reason no professional DVD has this problem is no (or very few) professional DVD uses layered menus. Use standard overlay for the best in navigation and speed.
Your other problem is a authoring problem, what did you set the Remote Control > Main Menu to? I bet it is set to “Not Set” By default it is Menu 1, but if you delete that menu it goes to “Not Set” then you have to manually set it to what you want. Each track can have any of the menus assigned as it’s Menu but only one Menu can be assigned as the Title for the entire disc. Often they are the same menu.

Does the SDX900 not have firewire? If it does that would be easier to do the pulldown removal and if you do to DVCPro50 anamorphic there is no quality lose.

Problem one, if you are on a (sub)menu and you hit menu it should not take you anywhere, that is not what that is for. Title button always takes you back to the menu set as the title, which by default is the first menu you create.
Problem two, that is not a problem that is the way layered menus work on a computer.

There are a bunch of post that list the software to do this but the software’s ability does not give anyone the legal right to do so. If you rip movies and use them for public viewing you are breaking copy right laws if you don’t have permission to use them (or if the presentation falls under fair use)

for something this short I recommend
From FCP > Export > To Compressor
Make a m2v preset
CBR Bitrate 7Mbps, make sure you have same frame rate and field dominance as the original footage.Encode the audio to Dobly Digital – ac3 stereo
Bitrate: .192 Mbps
Change the Dialog Normalization to -31 dB
Go to the Preprocessing Tab – set Compression to NONE -
This is one of the right of passages of every still photographer, everyone gets dominos until they realize that the exposure is the same as a bright sunny day. (anyone remember the sunny 16 rule?) It is not a night shot, the moon is lit with the full force of the sun. So the hard part is trying to get the full moon in the same frame as night light scene, that is hard to balance since you have to bring up the scene to daylight levels. The good thing is if you just have the moon and sky the sky will go really black when you have proper exposure of the moon.

It is better to encode your footage to m2v and audio to ac3 with compressor before going to DVDSP.
If you give me your TRT I can give you the bitrate or you can google bit rate calculator, you need to know where your compression needs to be to get the highest possible quality. If you still don’t like the quality of the encode you need to buy a better encoder, search the board for recommended software or pay someone that has experience to compress it for you.

#1 way to get a “Clean look” like an Apple commercial is to light it as well Apple does, without great lighting video will suffer. Gain is not a look, it is a setting, when you gain up you add noise, so don’t gain up.
Camera’s sweet setting is 720p.

Easy setup “DVCPRO HD 1080p30” should do it for you.
