    Hi all
i’ve been searching the boards and I found so many different takes on this problem that my head has nearly burst. I’m still having trouble so I could really use some help. Here’s the issue:

I shot a time-lapse of the tide for use in a video explorer (museum piece) and after researching the tech requirements I did the shoot at 1080p30 with the HVX 200, thinking that it was best to shoot progressive etc. Everything looks great but I’m having trouble setting up FCP to handle the footage without getting a nasty render hit. I tried the 1080i60 easy setup and change the field order to none with no luck. It always seems to want to log and transfer at 1080p30….then even if the sequence compressor settings change to 1080p30 I still have to render. I’m really confused.

I shot with the HVX 200 at 1080p30 to P2
    I have FCS2 on a 2x3ghz Dual Core Mac OS 10.5.6, KONA 3

Thanks for any ideas…I may have missed something but I’m freaking tired and resolutions/formats/frame rates have pushed me to capacity today.

    All the best

    Jeremy

Easy setup “DVCPRO HD 1080p30” should do it for you.

    Hi Michael
Thanks for the quick reply! I can get that all set up using the 1080p30 easy setup and it looks great, plays back real time…but I still run into the orange “unlimited” playback and the need to render before I do anything else with it. Hrm…I may have answered my own question. I guess maybe with my mac being a bit older I can’t have everything but it’s still weird to me that I have to render to ensure smooth playback. Any other hd rez footage I don’t run into this problem.
