The camera has USB mainly for PCs, have you tried using it, or sorry to suggest, looking it up in the manual.

You do not have HDV tapes, you have DV tapes. Use DV presets. for the 30p you change the field dominance to none.

Have you added any commands to the chapter marker? This is not normal for standard markers, if a script or command it added to a marker it will always pause.

Did you ask the theater what sounds files they can use. Does it have a 5.1 system? Many do not, they are Pro Logic systems that the surround sound embedded in a stereo stream.

MacBook Pro will do fine with what you need. The thing is the codec the camera shoots in needs to be converted to something like ProRes to use in FCP. In FCE you convert to AIC. not sure what you have to do to access the movie files in iMovie, but the computer will do a fine job.
Couple of things to keep in mind. Do not edit with movie files on your internal HD, buy a FW800 drive and use that for all your media, it will make a world of a difference.
I still you an old MPB as my second editing system (have an 8-core also) and it does a fine job with FCP and DVDSP, new systems are a lot faster.

But the plate doesn’t work well for us T2i guys. You have to take it off to get at the batteries. I ended up selling my plate and frame and getting the standard glue on frame. I then filed down the frame where the sensor is (another T2i only thing) so it shuts off the LCD when you are taking stills with the eye piece. Which works better for me and it lowed the cost of the finder a welcomed bit.

Yes, he showed it to me the trailer while in progress. We talked about your budget and production of this and it was very interesting, you should do a little write up about why you went with the DSLR.

Didn’t read your post but 99% sure you have made a hd DVD instead of a sd DVD. You will need to reauthor the project.

Yes but the software is expensive mfx4mac is one that I know about. There maybe others. That is the way I would do it. I don’t think people understand how much bigger your system has to be to work in uncompressed. You need super fast HD arrays for anything other than 2 stream editing and you still need fast Raids for that. The only place DVCProHD suffers is with added graphics since it is an 8-bit thin raster codec, but if you edit with the footage DVCProHD and set your compression to ProRes your graphics will be a little smoother. Then you export a ProRes or uncompressed version of your finished edit. But unless you have a lot of or demanding graphics I would just edit as DVCProHD. That is what the footage is in the first place. -
These are 2 different processes, it is like turning on the oven to heat your bread in the toaster.
Log and transfer are for rewrapping or converting media but you only have a couple of options at best. If you are shooting a P2 camera with DVCProHD L&T only rewraps the footage into QT files, if you are using AVCIntra or AVCHD cameras L&T transcodes the files into ProRes or AIC, don’t know of anyone who recommends AIC.
If you want them as Uncompressed you would need to do that in Compressor. There will be no quality lose from the 2 step process because there is no re-encoding in the first step.
