I don’t have this light but I have the 770. They work, they are inexpensive but they are no wheres near the quality of the lite panels. But they get the job done. You have to give up something if you want to save.

Agree with that lens but that is not very wide, especially on a 7D. But for nice Med to CU it is great. You can always shoot to your lens, meaning you stick with what you got and make it work but that is a serious compromise. There is a reason most people carry several lenses.

If you need the new features then it is worth it. Features can be found on Apple’s website. This is a question that each person needs to answer for themselves.

First, neither of your footage is 1440×1080, that is not a DVCProHD resolution and you should not be using it. DVCProHD is 1280×1080. So your FCP setting is wrong.
You should not be using ProRes (HQ), for video footage standard ProRes is much better (not so much quality but less issues and HQ will not give you any noticeable quality gains)

That is because there is no such feature within DVDSP. Using multiple m2v assets in a single video stream has always been a problem. There is a program (Mpeg Amend) that can stitch these files together give you a valid single video. It is not a valid workflow if you want playback compatibility.I agree that her problem is probably the video stream but more than likely it is a spike in the bitrate which cannot be seen in a player, and this could be a combo of the file and the media. It could also be she has a command placed in a chapter marker. It can be several things

If your footage is not progressive and your end result is DVD you should not be de-interlacing. You gain nothing and you create problems.

have you tried spotlight or just a simple find.

You can just export the parts of video that get titling, add the titles in iMovie, export again and bring those back into FCP. Of course depending on you footage and the compression you are using things may fall apart. You may want to look into using Motion for you titling. You can do the titles in Motion and bring them into FCP if it gives you the look you like.

By bounce do you mean export?
If so export as current settings self contained and then take into Compressor to make the DV conversion, you should be able to keep the NDF.
