Open up the Locator window under Tools menu and you can delete any one or all from there. You can also add there or via the locator button under the source monitor. If one is not there, you can add one via the button remapping feature from the command palette.

Also, if making DVD, the MPEG2 encoder will set a 16:9 flag that tells the player to display letterbox or not based on the television preferences set in the player.

Are you recpaturing the sequence or the original master clips? Capturing a sequence or a subclip will create .new.
Also make sure you have your capure settings set for longer than your longest clip – enter 60. That may have changed with your crash.

You need v3 to run on Leopard 10.5.3. There is also a v3.0.1 that runs on Tiger. When you upgrade, you will get the MC installer as well as an updater file for the dongle. Instructions are with the installer Read Me files. Basic steps will be to uninstall all previous versions of Media Composer and components, install new MC, then update the dongle.

No, you want to edit in 23.976 so that the edits are not adjusted +/1 frame for the final master. In order to get the true 24fps timecode as found on the HD masters, you need to do a START to TC24 copy/paste where the conversion happens.

you’re kind of stuck. With file based formats, you really need to determine ahead of time what your edit and mastering rate are going to be based on your one or more deliverables and priorities thereof. for example, NTSC broadcast first, protect for a film-out versus NTSC and PAL deliverables, etc.
It also depends on how the files were shot when on the HVX. If shot native at 23.976 you would have had to edit in 23.97. Since the files were most likely shot 23.976 but within a 59.94 file with pulldown you had the choice (before editing):
1. Edit at 59.94 (which you did)
2. Use MXFX tool from DVFilm to extract the 23.976 from the files and edit naively at 23.976.For productions that cannot go back to redo a native 23.976, the usual path is to take the master output (59.94) with all the cadence breaks and run it through a Teranex or similar device from other vendors (Snell & Wilcox, etc.) to do the conversion back to a native 23.976 submaster.

What version is this coming from? If Media Composer Xpress… there should be a project folder with .avp (project) and .avb (bins). Unless this is a very early version of the product.
