  • Also note that depending on how the material was captured, 720p is 30 frame timecode standard (in NTSC based countries) according to SMPTE. Media Composer will track native 23.976 frames with 30fps timecode dropping every 5th frame in the cycle to compensate. This will always be the case in tape based captures. If you frame advance your source START in media composer, what is it rolling over as?

You can’t edit text directly, but you can extract, copy, and paste from external document where changes can be made. You can insert a block of text and everything moves down and remain in sync. Then you can just choose to sync between existing marks (in settings if I remember correctly).

Just copy/paste the missing section into the already synced script.

Do all these audio subclips share the same master clip? Are you changing the value on the .sync clip or another before the sync?

Just a small correction, although I know Oliver knows this; both Mac and PC support “ingest” of ProRes, only the Mac would allow for render and transcode to ProRes should that be needed in your workflow.

Keep in mind this works best with double system workflows when syncing happens in Media Composer since Resolve strips audio during the process at this time.

You can use the free version of Resolve (Lite) to apply a LogC to REC709 LUT and create native MXF wrapped DNxHD of your choice with filename as source ID in Tape column for all offline/online conform processes.

ALE does not relink Audio. You discovered the first half by importing the AAF files where picture and sound automatically relink upon import. Once those AAFs are imported, select all, then do an import. In ShotLog (ALE) settings of import, select the last radio button “merge based on…” then select the ALE. All ALE metadata will now be in the files.
