You use the QuckTime AMA to get direct access and from there you can select all and do a consolidate. It is as fast as a copy. If on v7, be sure to turn off alpha in import settings.

Well here is a sequence report for a one event timeline (v7) from an AMA linked R3D file with a simple title from the title tool. While it lists that a “title effect” was found in the sequence, it does not give any further information on font, etc. I am inclined to say it will be the same for Marquee.

As far as I know, it uses the same font collection that is managed by the OS and used by every other application. The issue between PC and Mac fonts, is despite having the same name, there may be a different ID associated with them that would cause this to happen. You might want to try “sequence report” (right click sequence in bin) which is designed to give a report of plug-ins, etc. that are needed to conform the sequence. I can’t recall whether fonts are included in that report. If they are not, they should be (as well as font vendor and any other info that can be gleaned).

When I say root level, it means that the “Avid MediaFiles”folder is not inside any other folder. Double click the hard drive, and it should be there.

If you have a fully licensed student version, then you should have 4 upgrades as part of the that purchase. I am not familiar with the exact details and requirements, but I would start here:

Most likely – the folder structure needs to look like:
[root level hard drive] Avid MediaFiles/MXF/1
Where 1 can be also be 2, 3, 4,
Each of the numbered folders are created once the “1” folder gets more than 5,000 files.

Basic question, but when you transcoded, were you presented with a frame rate mismatch in the dialog window? I asked because a frame rate mismatch might cause motion artifacts if the camera original frame rate does not match the timeline frame rate. Just something to check.
And you’re sure it is DNxHD 36? Is the drive full? Are you using any third party hardware for I/O?

You can’t transcode to two different destinations at the same time. But you can do it to one destination, look at the creation date in the Media Files folder, and copy to the second drive.
from there you can open project and bins on each system and the media will link. You need to just manage bin naming when the bins are sent back so they don’t overwrite each other when put back into the master project.

In addition to Job’s suggestions, look at the creation date of the file at the directory level… A transcode will generate a new file, giving it a more recent date than any files on your B drive.

I suspect the FW800 is your bottleneck in this scenario. I have had success in the past with DNxHD 36 synced dailies off of a FW800, but you are flirting with the the total throughput available to you. When you load a clip in the timeline, the colored bars in the timecode ribbons indicate whether there is a throughput problem. If I remember correctly, blue bars indicate drive is too slow for the given operation. Red is effects, and yellow is a warning that frames may drop.
Also, is your timeline set to green/yellow?
