I believe one of the more recent versions of MC enabled real-time reverse playback. Check the release notes for the last few and see.

Media Composer 8.5.3 is not supported on that OS.

Timecode is the issue as Media Composer AMA linking is not reading the timecode in the file. You might want to consider creating native Avid Media in Resolve to ensure timecode is correct. Be sure to set up REEL ID correctly. Also, the free version support 4K UHD (3840×2160), not 4K or higher.
As far as the second issue, there is not a lot to go on without seeing it or having the file to test with.
You may want to invest in the Nablet XAVC-S AMA plug-in for $99 if you want to do transcode in Media Composer.

Also, note that DNxHR 1/4 proxy is exactly the same as working in DNxHD 36. Now if your aspect ratio is not 16:9 for 4K UHD, then work in 4K with 1/4 proxy.

Is the TV capable of decoding and playing back 5.1? Usually, it goes to an amplifier unless you are passing sound from the TV to the amplifier?

If you don’t mind letting Media Composer do it you can choose to do it as either a foreground or background process. A background process will need a bit beefier of a system so it transcodes and you can still do other editing operations.
Make sure you have the most recent or appropriate version of the AMA plug-in for your system. That will most likely be the ones from Nablet of which are free except for the one supporting XAVC-S.
See: https://www.nablet.com/product-category/plugins/avid-media-composer/Link to the folder level or clip depending on which camera/codec/folder structure being used. The bin will populate with the clips from the card/drive. Highlight all and select transcode. Select settings per your needs.

Media Composer has never supported font, color, position, box, etc. Only text an timing in both the DS and STL formats. AAF might be different but have not tested that to any extent.

If you want to try free, Handbrake might be a solution. It has a batch mode (not elegant but works) and supports MXF OP1a DNxHD as a source which is my preferred way to prepare for third-party encoders as per my blog (second half).
