Make sure you have the latest version of the XD Cam transfer software and you are running Final Cut 6.02.

Got to love this new view finder. Convergent Design is using the Sony Mpeg-2 encoder and they have the ability to change compression rates so I wonder if this SxS card system can record at higher bit rates like the new XD Cam 50 Mbps and if Sony will have a firmware update.

One easy for sure way is to switch the camera to SD as it shoots SD too.

You may also want to download the latest 2.5.1. XD Cam transfer program that fixes the Clock timecode issue with the EX1.

Sarah, Did you use the CLOCK timecode?

here is a link to the latest version of XDCam Transfer 2.5.1 that I’m not sure you have.

This is a must and fixes the TIME OF DAY or CLOCK timecode issue.

When the EX1 is in SP (HDV) record mode it can output HDV via firewire. If recording HQ the firewire is disabled.

Take the BPAV file you had copied onto the MBP and move it into it’s own folder and call it CARD #1. Go back and try again. You need to make a new folder for each BPAV file.

Let them have there fun, the P2 is a good camera with an extremely small HD resolution that uses expensive cards. And yes you won’t like what you’ll get with the EX1 from camera flashes if you are a wedding videographer. But you will love the incredible image from the new Exmor 1/2 CMOS chips.

I love this little EX1 camera and I will deal with the rolling shutter.
