I can make it work, if you open the file and find the next subfolder (EX1) you can rename it (EX3) for the camera model it is going into and then it works. I don’t know if this will work for the PMW350 but it does work between the EX1 and EX3.

Put it back on the camera and somewhere in the menu is a way to check out the battery condition, provided it still has enough life to boot up the camera. You may fine it was reached the end of its life.

In SP mode you are really getting Sony’s flavor of HDV, and sony wanted all of their HDV product line to work with any television, and that is why you have 60i.

It is no secret these SD/adapter solutions have limitations. Proper testing and operating has long been discussed here and only after each individual understands how this solution works can one feel comfortable using it for hire.
There is another solution besides running out and purchasing 32gig SxS cards, and it includes redundant recording using extremely affordable CF cards garnering higher bit rate levels that go beyond the limits of the EX cameras, yes it is the Nano Flash and honestly any of you professionals working consistently should seriously consider adding a redundant recording system to your package. Yes I use my SD/Adapter solution as my backup to my Nano Flash for every job now.

YES You definitely can record to both SxS and on into the Nano at the same time. IMO this is the best way to insure you have the optimum security working with digital files. I just shot a pilot and this is the workflow I use to insure the files to my clients.

I use the EX3 together with the Nano flash and it is IMO the best way to go. If you want HD cam quality from a 8K camera and don’t want to cart around a large external hard drive recorder like the Ki-Pro, get the Nano flash. I know this product very well and it is simply the best solution on the market for field recording.

The HPX-500 basically uses an older SD sensor system and interpolates the image to create HD. The EX series cameras use a full raster HD sensor system. You have 2 EX cameras, IMO you have made your choice. Another EX3 will give you the ability to jam timecode. Having all the same sensors is going to make it very easy to lock a look or picture profile between cameras, and only one person needs to know the system. P2 cards are pricey and I wouldn’t consider adding the P2 workflow to what you have.
