Then that is the odd thing. I look at the original files off the card through either HVX200 or HPX500 and both are clean =/

Ah great to hear that from you Shane. Can you think of anything that could possibly be causing this during L&T? I tried plugging the P2 Reader into a surge protector to see if that helped, and still had issues.

I opened up the same file in APP and this is what I got:

I’ll check APP. It’s so much easier to use L&T, even though we’re not preserving the real RAW files =/ Was hoping someone found a fix to this.

This happens on all machines in the studio =/ It doesn’t seem to be a “reader” issue, but possibly a software issue in FCP7?

Yeah, it rarely happens in P2CMS/Raylight, but between card transfer to FCP, the problem starts. I’ll try attaching this again.

It’s definitely not a bad P2 card since the footage on the card itself is clean as a whistle. It’s something going on during the Log and Transfer process and/or P2CMS/Raylight conversion. Attached is what we get…

I have tried dragging the footage and letting it go native (native with our clips are 1080i/60i). It still usually goes black ARGH!

Raylight allows to edit straight from the .mxf file instead of having to log and transfer in FCP and create .mov files.

It’s quick and easy and you maintain the original card structures of the cards you ingest from P2CMS.

    Okay Shane here’s my questions:

With MXF4Mac, will this be the only program I need to ingest and import into FCP? Do I need to use P2CMS anymore?

I looked on the website and don’t know which program I need to actually use (there’s a ton of them it seems).

How would the workflow be using this program (or is it a plugin?) after loading the P2 card into the reader?
