Thanks guys. I will try the smooth-cam filter today and let you know the results. I am a big fan of Andrew Kramer too and use his DVDs very frequently. Appreciate your time.

No there isn’t a stationary object in the shot. The camera is looking down at the lines in the road. Is there any other way to stabilize a shot like this? The yellow lines are consistently different than the surrounding pavement. Am I screwed? Thanks for whatever help you can give me.

Thanks so much man that was it. If you get a second can you explain to me why that fixed it?
What is the difference between floor and round?

    Thanks again.

  • I got it to work. One last question, why does it count up to 60 and then quickly change to one minute? Can I make it go from :59 to 1:00?

  • What is in the original text layer? Also, could you write the expression exactly how I need to put it in? I am new to this and I am confused. Thanks.

I went through the tutorial and while it helped a lot, it did not solve the problem. When the camera is turned or moved at all, the gradient changes. It seems that the actual ramp stays the same and the text moves independantly. How do I lock the gradient to the text so that it looks the same no matter what angle I view it from? Again, I have followed the steps in the tutorial, and have precomposed the layer. Please help.

I have already tried that. The gradient of the top layer and the wipe of the bottom layer still change when moved around the canvas in the original comp.

When I bring the motion PF into FCP its is barely visible. In the timeline layed on top of the video it looks as though the lower third is set at a 15 percent opacity. Any idea what is going on? Is it still an issue with the alpha channel and HDV, since the PF settings are for HDV?
