I made the mistake of believing the preview window, in which the aspect ratio looks wrong after doing the reverse telecine. When importing those file into FC6, they actually look right and are 23.98. Is there any way to make these file 23.98 upon import into FC6 making this a 1 step process instead of 2?
    At least it’s working…

Yes, the Cinema Tools manual seems clear enough, although it doesn’t really address my specific problem, and I can’t afford to be wrong because of my client, the number of files I have to convert, and my delivery deadline. I have tested the batch reverse telecine and then importing the files into FC to check them, and it seems like it’s working.
In the FC browser, the files’ video rates say 23.98… however, out on the desktop, when I do a get info (more info) on the reversed files, it still says under codecs that they are Integer (Little Endian), Timecode, DVCPRO HD (1080i60). This is disconcerting to me…

I’m also confused as to what my Audio/Video settings are supposed to be in Final Cut so that I am getting an accurate read on what I’ve got after running the files through Cinema Tools. Right now in the timeline I’m checking the reversed files, the settings are:
    Sequence preset: DVCPRO HD -1080p24
Capture preset: DV NTSC 48Hz Advanced (2:3:3:2) Pulldown removal

I also have new original files that haven’t been converted from their original P2 state, out on the desktop waiting to be digitized. (I check the files so as not to give the client any crap files, and to edit some material that the film makers don’t want me to give to the studio.
What should my FC settings be to ingest those files without having to do any other maneuvering? Again, shot on the HVX-200 1080 24p. Clearly, my shooting choice in the future (as of tomorrow) will be 24PA, since that setting seems to have it’s own preset.

Really got to get this all right, and appreciate your help.
    Thanks again.

Ok, got my FC Studio 2 upgrade. Can you walk me through what it is I need to do? If there are any batch shortcuts, please include them, since I have many many clips to reverse telecine to get back to 24 frames. Thanks.

Thanks so much for your prompt response Jeremy G! I had to run out to shoot again this morning before I got your last reply…
One more question. Would simply re-importing the clips the 1080 60i clips from the drives into a 1080 24P timeline in an updated version of FC also work? Seems like it might be faster that the Cinema Tools, although I don’t know. Any difference in quality if it did work? Thanks again in advance.
