P2 clips only exported from FCP 5.1 imported into FCP 5.0.1?
Does anyone know if I can import P2 clips (720 30p) into FCP 5.1, then export the clips as Quicktime HD (or other format), then import those clips into FCP 5.0.1 and then build my timeline? My first P2 project, and I need to use this workaround if possible…

Or get P2 Log to import the P2 files. But yes, you could use your method. The P2 Import window in 5.1 re-wraps the data into a QuickTime DVCPRO-HD file, and THAT QT file is makes in your Capture Scratch folder is what you can bring anywhere to work with. 5.0 will support DVCPRO-HD, just not the P2 import.
