I’m not sure I would want to use Resolve as a NLE. There are way better options out there. Resolve is great for grading and now it is getting better for finishing. But it is not an editor and according to reports from their NAB stand they don’t have any plans to make it a real editor.

[Joseph Owens] “I do a certain amount of this”
Could you describe your workflow? Does the shot info carry through with AAF? Thanks.

The cost of switching to the world’s most exciting online editor is zero!
I wonder if they are talking about Lite of if they have decided to drive the final nail through the coffin and make Resolve free all together.

Good to have an official reply Peter.
Now could you reply to this question: https://forums.creativecow.net/readpost/277/29021 ?

Main limitations are:
Only up to HD
Only one GPU
No noise reduction
No remote grade. -

March 20, 2014 at 3:03 pm in reply to: Is it worth bothering with a Dell, or should I custom build a workstation for Resolve? Thanks. I thought you had tested it when you said it would work fine. Just because it’s a P9X79 doesn’t mean it will work though. For example, the WS version, or the P9X79 WS doesn’t seem to work as reported by many users in this forum because it has no PCIe lane which is not shared. So some who bought it couldn’t get it to work.
About the Asrock, I’m hesitating going with other than an Asus P9X79 because this is the only one Blackmagic tested.

I see. But I guess you did try Resolve 10 with it and it worked normally, since you mentioned the P9X79 is fine?
What is the problem you see with the slot layout?
By the way, not doing 4K yet over here. Only 10-bit 422 1080p HD for now.
And thanks for being the only person from the whole forum replying to this thread. I truly appreciate it.

March 15, 2014 at 5:12 pm in reply to: Is it worth bothering with a Dell, or should I custom build a workstation for Resolve? And if I would decide going with two graphics cards, would it be fine to go with a GTX760 4GB and something lower like a GT640 2GB or GT630 4GB for the second card? And is having two graphics cards recommended with the P9X79 keeping in mind I will have to use an Intensity Pro or DeckLink Mini Monitor? Thanks!

March 15, 2014 at 11:33 am in reply to: Is it worth bothering with a Dell, or should I custom build a workstation for Resolve? Thanks Eric. The GTX 760 seems affordable enough. Any ideas if the GTX 750 would also work or is it too old to bother?
Are you running the P9X79 or know somebody running it and have it working? Or you are going by the specs alone?
At any rate it’s good to know it will also work. I was afraid it wouldn’t work like is the case with the P9X79 WS.
What system are you running Resolve on by the way?
