My budget is the Teranex Express.

So basically if Resolve, which I already have, is not a good option, I’m not interested in using other software or plug-in. If I have to pay for something I will pay for hardware. Not for another software.

But budget is up to the price of a Teranex Express, and I hear it can’t be beaten in that price range and even more expensive units don’t really beat it. After all it used to cost $80K.

I just wanted to know if doing it in Resolve would be too far behind or get too inferior results.

And thanks everybody for all replies and suggestions.

No, we don’t use any of the Adobe products. Thanks.

Since there wasn’t a single reply I thought I would reply to myself. By the way, I think this is why people post questions that should be here in the other forum. You barely get any replies here.

I went with the mini monitor and it works great. My research found that it is a better piece of hardware than the Intensity.

Just leaving this here for future reference.

Never knew it didn’t do what it is advertised to do. Good to know.

[Juan Salvo] “I believe BMD has pulled revival from the product page.”

Interestingly, it seems to be the case. But I checked before I posted my last reply and it was there.

The page itself is still online. https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/products/davincirevival/

    [Andy Winter] “originally
the whole restoration tools were a separate software software package, so called revival.”

    They still sell it.

I thought this was what DaVinci Revival was for?

Last time I checked the floating windows could be fixed in place if that’s what bothers you.

[Ricardo Marty] “lightroom is definatly in my tool bag”

    Lightroom?

    I said Lightworks.

Looking at Resolve I don’t think I would like to edit on it. But if you have the patience to edit with something like FCP-X then you may like it. If you want an alternative to Avid, Lightworks is it.

If I decide to move to another editing program I’m going to Lightworks for sure.

Quite capable is a matter of opinion. You supposedly can edit in Hitfilm 2 but I wouldn’t want to edit in it. If you are looking for alternatives for editing, have you checked Lightworks? If I was looking for an alternative I would look into that.
