[Jerry Hofmann] “However it saddens me that I won’t get to see folks that I’ve become friends with at Apple or at Avid. It’s a time of year that I’ve always looked forward to just to see people I ONLY get to see at the NAB show. Too bad… I do like having the moments to actually shake a hand with or in some instances, a really big hug.

All the folks you’ve grown to love from Apple will be at the SuperMeet Jerry. Some on stage and some just hanging with us. Hell, even folks from Avid are invited to eat the crappy food if they want.

Historically Apple does big things with FCS every 2 years not every year. Last year was a big thing year.

Apple may of pulled off the show floor but they still will be at the SuperMeet. The way I’m spinning this decision is if you really want to talk to the folks from the FCS team and I mean the ones that really matter; the ones that make decisions on your behalf, then you’ll find them April 16. They will be right up on stage and after that out in the hall. Try finding them on the show floor at their giant booth at a giant trade show like NAB. Yes, they are there, but just try and find them.

You can still go. Apple will be at the SuperMeet April 16 and if it is face to face time you want then the folks whom you REALLY want to talk to, will be there.

I’m hearing it too from well informed sources. Well, if they do pull out, then make time for the SuperMeet, April 16 cause they will be there that I know. I’ve booked them.

Apple is now listed as exhibiting at NAB. SL 106. First thing you see when entering the Lower South Hall.120×120 Looks to be the biggest booth in all of South Hall by 2x. So they negotiated well. 🙂

January 4, 2008 at 7:18 pm in reply to: New mystery product??

Just to set the record straight, there is no truth to the rumor that Apple will use the SuperMeet for a product announcement. I’m one of the producers of this event.

Those that know me know I use the phrase ‘Super Secret” all the time. Have for years. It’s a take off on “super meet.” I use it when I honestly dont know what the presenter is presenting. And in this case I honestly don’t know what Apple is presenting. Whatever it is, it wont be a new product. SuperMeets are about teaching us something. The FCP team always uses these SuperMeets for that purpose. Not for product announcements.

Going to be a heck of a show I can tell you that.

What happens with this forum software (I think) and certainly other forum software is that if you bracket the URL with chicken Beaks meaning < and > the URL will disappear so it is quite probable you posted the URL but when you hit the post direct button it will be gone.
