July 10, 2007 at 5:05 amYou would think that the Cow would disallow images that have any religious slant on them for the respect of people of all religions and nations that read this forum!

Maybe or maybe not depending if you’re christian or not. It is inappropriate image that should go against this forum’s code of conduct, however subtly it is used.

July 10, 2007 at 6:36 amI have many friends of many different religions, Jewish, Muslim, Christian, Atheist and NONE would be offended by it.
It is a man standing in front of a church. for all you know he is talking about elections and the local polling station is in that church. Voting stations in local churches happens all the time, I cast my vote at a church last election.
IN NO WAY IS THE IMAGE OFFENSIVE.

That is a scene from the documentary “Mountains of Coal” for Assignment Earth. It takes place in what was the tiny town of Blair, West Virginia that no longer exists after the coal mine was shut down. The gentleman in question is standing in front of the Church of Christ which is also a meeting center in the town. It’s a soundbite with the gentleman talking about where he used to hunt and fish in the hollars around the town and now you can’t because the coal companies won’t allow anyone on their properties. In addition, he’s discussing the practice of mountain top mining where companies literally blast off the top of a mountain and remove up to 1,000 feet off the top of a mountain to get the coal.
I chose the scene because it is so yellow. The only thing religious about the scene is the name on the building.
If you’d like to see the entire episode, they are now streamed on YouTube.

A sign that says “Church of Christ” does not go against anything in this forum’s code of conduct. There is no audio in the scene. I have explained exactly what this scene is in another post. It’s an excellent example to use in this tutorial.
