That was version 3. Now it’s Scotch. Has been since Version 4.

Dangerous? About as dangerous as an easter bunny in a good mood. No worries here mate. It’s harmless and enjoy the show next time he visits.

Now you’ve done it! That isn’t a cow. It’s a Yak. And he’s very sensitive. So be careful. Google “Bruce the Wonder Yak”

August 23, 2005 at 12:44 am in reply to: OT: Wolsky, Monahan, Avid Xpress Pro at lafcpug, Aug. 24I’m trying. We do tape these things for later sale on DVD but last few months its been hard to find volunteers to tape. Plus we just can’t sell enough of these DVDs to make the enterprise worthwhile. As for putting these meetings on the web, we’ve talked about it endlessly but cant quite figure out how to do it. I mean, who would watch a couple hours of a lafcpug meeting on a tiny window? We could encode to H264 but that would take forever and eliminate a big audience (if there was one for this) because it takes a minimum G5 to watch H264
Finding a sponsor is probably not a problem. Finding an audience is.

There are no easy answers or quick fixes here. As Jerry says a class will help but only that, help. Read, read, read, do, do , do, do again and then do again. There are a gazillion books and DVDs out there to help you but essentially its up to you to keep banging away until you “get it”. Do the tutorials that came with FCP. Read that Dummies book again. Read that Apple Book again. Order a training DVD and do it over and over until you finally get it. Post specific problems here at the Cow and I mean specific. Don’t just say you cant get audio in from your DVCam or you cant get a fade to work. Tell us why you cant get it to work. Tell us all the things you tried.
Lots of help for a FCP user. You’ll get it.

August 17, 2005 at 5:03 am in reply to: POLL: How much work(network / feature) is now being done on FCPThere isn’t a list anywhere for network/feature shows cut on FCP anymore than there is a list for Avid shows. Well, maybe in Boston and Cupertino but none where I live. No way to give a definitive list just what we’ve heard. Plus the new TV season is underway and I’m betting FCP is a bigger part of it this year what with all the HD shows.
