My guess is that you are on 6.0.1 which has a bug regarding saving render files.

Try a copy paste of the whole timeline into a new sequence with the same settings and then render.

Whilst the HDCam deck is happy with SD ref, the Decklink Pro card wants tri level for all HD formats as far as I know. Kona may be different so thats not it.

As for cuts not matching, that is something I haven’t seen before. Was there any version differences between the offline & your online version of FCP? That’s all I can think of

Two things. Firstly the original HDCam to DV capture shifts the HD from upper to lower field. When you compare the QT of the DV shots with fast action, there can appear to be a shift, although it is half frame.

Secondly, I have had the same situation recapturing HDCam and found the odd shot a whole frame out. It shouldn’t happen but it is easy to roll the new shot a frame. I assumed I had the odd erro becasue I didn’t have a tri level sync locking the deck & FCP during capture.

mp3s should be converted to aif or wav at 48khz before dropping into FCP. mp3s click and skip otherwise. That is normal but annoying.

Not really. The limiter is clip based so a bunch of clips limited to a set maximum, then mixed together will exceed broadcast levels.

FCP is not an audio mastering tool as you can’t bus mix to create stem elements or peak limit mixes, only clips. The compressor limiter in FCP is functional but not a patch on units found in DAWs and mixers.

Open the mixer (Tools>) turn the keyframe automation on and grab the fader with the mouse and fade in real time.

Is the FCP project just audio? Do you have a card like AJA or Decklink in the FCP machine?

If is just audio then export the audio tracks to the AVID & restripe.

If not and you have a card, then hook up the digi beta to FCP & edit to tape. So many options – so little information

Do you have the latest Blackmagic drivers? I had a problem with my Decklink Pro card and FCS2 which was fixed by downloading the latest drivers.

Just a guess with so little information, but check that you have a video reference signal going to both the dig beta and the Decklink card.

The other issue is that the SDI out from the Decklink might be feeding back into the digi beta which is syncing to input not reference. In other words it is syncing to itself looped through.

Thirdly try swapping the video patch cable.

Basic simple stuff but worth checking

I concur with the RGB limit filter being more useful and accurate than the Broadcast Safe filter. I tend to use the 3 way CC and other nice plugins like Nattress Gamma and Lyric Shadow highlight first and then the RGB limit for safety.
