Anybody seen this weirdness?
I’m onlining a show that was offlined at another facility. I’m re-digitizing the show from HDCAM at prores 1080i 29.97 10 bit. The show was offlined using apple dv downconverted footage, also at 29.97. The offline editor exported a qt file of the finished show for me to put on an upper track in my sequence to check for sync. I used media manager to make new offline clips with handles at the prores 1080i 29.97 preset. When I line up the qt of the offline with my HD sequence, some of the edits are not lining up. Most of them are correct but some of the edits are offset by 1 frame. I’m not talking about shots being slipped (although that is also happening on certain clips…somewhat to be expected +/- 1 frame), I mean the actual frames where the edit occurs in the timeline are different. I also took the qt file and compared it to the original dv sequence that it came from and it’s doing the same thing – some edits are off by a frame. I think the exported qt file is screwed up. Anybody seen this? The footage was captured months ago using 6.01 and now we are using 6.02…could this have something to do with it?
