    I received this error:

Is there a way to simply add the presets without going to Bridge? This seems like an unnecessary step to something that was already so simple.

I enabled viewing of animation presets and went to adobe bridge to import the missing presets. But when I select the “place in after effects” from the right click menu it crashes after effects.

I also moved the presets to the presets folder. Both in the root folder and a “background” folder within the presets folder.

The presets are still missing but at least I know where to find them. Any thoughts on getting this to work? Am I doing something wrong?

Another important note is that after effects is crashing on both mac and pc systems. Everything is updated to latest versions.

Sorry, didn’t mean to post twice.

  • Yes thank you for that! It will be a huge help.

  • YES! Thank you immensely! I was hoping it was something simple.

October 14, 2012 at 3:10 pm in reply to: disk cache auto overwrite?

I reset the Cache allocation from 170Gb to 150Gb ton ensure the drive would not fill:

The allocated cache space of 150Gb is close to filling up again (147.9Gb). Of the total usable disk space of 238.47Gb there is 85.25Gb unused. So the actual drive itself still has free space available.

“ADATA CACHE DRIVE” in disk manager:

    Where data is on drive:

I am still receiving this message:

If the cache should automatically overwrite old cache files making it unnecessary for me manually empty the folder, then why am I still receiving this message given that the drive itself isn’t close to being full?

I’ve searched online for people with a similar issue, or settings to control the cache folder auto overwrite but haven’t found anything. It would be helpful not to have to trash all of my cache manually every time it gets close to being full.

  • Seems strange to leave that out, I’m almost certain it’s present on my mac system when I reconnect media. Is there anyway to search drives from AE when trying to locate media?

Newbie question I know, I’m just so use to that search bar being there.

  • I was able to stack 5 (and counting) of the individual misfire effects on an adjustment layer after the 6.0.3 update. However overall misfire (the one with gateweave, splotches etc…) still isn’t working. Only 2 stacked effects work if I put them directly on the clip. Hopefully the use of adjustment layers should work for me but I haven’t done enough testing to know if it’s full proof.

Is there a way to determine the version number of the misfire effect I have installed? Are updates Free for this?

    Thanks for you’re help.

I think that I know where the disconnect is. The “media cache” I was counting as part of the Disk Cache but I see that must be separate and what’s causing disk cache to say there isn’t enough space remaining.

Is there a way to limit the media cache?

any articles on the differences between the two?
