The media is mostly QuickTime files captured and edited in FCP. We will be mostly using G5. Not sure about layers yet… perhaps a few video and audio…

Ok… so it looks like these .moi files are really mpeg 2 files…
Can I edit these files in Avid xpress? will i have to render constantly??

I do realize that we’re asking for trouble.

I’m wondering if anyone has a specific example of a problem that they know comes up in upgrading from 4.5 to 5.1. Perhaps an anecdote. It would be extremely useful.

There suite is only in 5.1. Any suggestions?

Not to sound really dumb, but, when you say to keep the connection cables as short as possible, do you mean the physical legnth of the cord?

i am trying to only back up the full orginial clips that are in my active sequence…not everythiing in the project
