    Bill

I went from the GTX 285 to the Quadro 4000 –and yeah the 285 has for cuda cores as I believe the 570 does as well over the 4000 —

BUT (now i don’t know a ton about video cards) but its basically the design and architecture of the 4000 that the programs are written to work with those types of cards.

that said the 570 will work and I had no problem with my 285 –I just elected to stay with cards that are native supported by the OS.

I did notice difference with cs6 and AE and Premiere with the 4000 -and Chris is right –its a single card

    more room for more goodies.

    I double that —

Frank I have the Quadro 4000 and I have all the apps you suggested and they all work just fine –

I went from a GTX 285 card to the Quadro 4000 and could tell a difference–cs6 AE and Premiere run awesome with the card.

July 19, 2012 at 3:17 pm in reply to: Premiere 6.0.1 (Mac) crashing when exporting…

    Hey Steven

your not alone –Im getting the exact same thing as you when i export in AME -funny thing is I just reformatted and did a whole new install and everything is up to date. Last export made my computer lock up

NOW I have a Matrox MXO2 Mini and if I render with a codec from it –I have no problem and no crashes
EXCEPT -Anyone find (that uses a Matrox for encoding) the video looks more washed out when encoded than it did in the original.

This wasn’t a problem with AME 5.5 -thats why I went with it instead of Compressor-I would always get a washed out too bright look with Compressor.

Now AME is doing it –AME 5.5 was on the money -what color you put in is what you got out

  • Hey Kevin

That’s awesome news-thanks a lot for doing that -it’s really appreciative to know that you and Adobe and truly listening to their customers to keep making your products even better

    Thanks again

Im not even sure you are worth writing back too because you are such an idiot!!!! If you bothered to read my post you would see that I have been using FCP 7 with Sapphire Edge for some time. I upgraded to CS6 and I have been wanting to move to PPro for ease of workflow and found out Edge doesn’t apply right with transitions.

    Geez stupid people irritate me!
Please don’t write me back because I can’t handle you anymore.

Thank you for being rational about this and explaining it thru with me. I had read other info from people on the web that it was an Adobe Premiere issue of why some of these effects don’t work like native effects and transitions do. I will contact Genarts and discuss the problem with them. Again I think your products are great and will continue to use them, I just want to make it better as everyone else.

    Tom

As far you go and your comment-You can pretty much kiss off. You dont know me and what my financial situation is. Why would I want to SPEND more money on Boris when I bought the one of the best plugins in the industry and I expect it to work right. I am a freelance shooter/editor and I don’t have the big budget backing of a big company. So don’t tell someone to quit whining when you don’t know their situation is. I was trying to point out a common problem that has been an issue and wondered why it hasn’t been fixed yet. Trying to make a the product better for all of us.

thats all fine and dandy but what happen to communication between you and bigger companies like Genart to make this right. Ive spent good money on these plugins just to find out that it takes me about 5 steps to put a nice Genarts glow between 2 clips in PPro when it only takes me one step in FCP 7.

Its a real big disappointment for me not to use these plugins quickly. I love your guys products-I use AE and photoshop daily. I was was thinking giving premiere a really good shot but this is discouraging. If ADOBE wants to be the top dog in the market-this has got to be an easier fix than you make it out to be.

    thanks

    Matt

  • Hey Bill

nice find –looks like something I could use –But the big question here is –these plugins are FREE and they work between 2 clips just like standard PPro effects –

How come the expensive Sapphire and Boris plugins cant work like these?

    Go figure!

    Matt

  • Vince

yeah you can use native transitions in PP like you described, but if you try and use a 3rd party transition effect such as Sapphire Edge transitions -it won’t work. If you want a 10 frame transition you have to razor 5 frames on the outgoing clip and 5 frames on the incoming clip and then ramp the effect on each clip.

very frustrating. Im a new PP user and i have read its been like this for a while –cant believe they haven’t updated this issue.
