Premiere 6.0.1 (Mac) crashing when exporting…
Posted by Steven Belcher on July 6, 2012 at 6:22 pmPremiere (6.0.1) keeps crashing when I try to export a sequence. Also when I try to queue it to Media Encoder, Media Encoder crashes. This doesn’t make any sense because I exported the sequence without issue just an hour or so before it started crashing. Is anyone else having this problem? This is pretty urgent…
Thanks guys

July 7, 2012 at 2:55 amAre you certain you are using the most up to date version of Media Encoder aswell?
Try to hold shift+alt(option) keys during AME launch to clear the prerefences. You’ll know it’s clearing since it will take ages to launch…

July 7, 2012 at 8:19 pmAre you exporting over a network? File sizes are limited to 2GB in most instances with Adobe software and networks. We’re running into that situation here at our shop, have to render to the Desktop and then move the files over.

July 7, 2012 at 9:50 pmYes everything is up to date. And this problem occurs while exporting with Premiere itself as well a queuing it to AME through Premiere. I rebooted the comp and it worked once, but then stopped working again. It seems to only happen when exporting low-res mp4 preview files. However, when it successfully exports higher-res files in any other format, it seems that the transitions aren’t being encoded properly. For instance, dissolves are not smooth at all but rather quick and jerky when they fade in.

July 7, 2012 at 9:53 pmNo I’m not working over a network. And the files that cause the crash would be a few MB at best. The hi-res exports that work (minus the horrible transition encoding for whatever reason) are less than 1GB.

July 19, 2012 at 3:17 pmHey Steven
your not alone –Im getting the exact same thing as you when i export in AME -funny thing is I just reformatted and did a whole new install and everything is up to date. Last export made my computer lock up
NOW I have a Matrox MXO2 Mini and if I render with a codec from it –I have no problem and no crashes
EXCEPT -Anyone find (that uses a Matrox for encoding) the video looks more washed out when encoded than it did in the original. This wasn’t a problem with AME 5.5 -thats why I went with it instead of Compressor-I would always get a washed out too bright look with Compressor.
Now AME is doing it –AME 5.5 was on the money -what color you put in is what you got out
