I have a Mac Pro running OSX 10.7.4 with a 2 x 2.26 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon processor and 12 Gigs memory. I also have a ATI Radeon HD 4870 512 MB graphic card which eliminates me from the Mercury features of Adode Premiere Pro. If I changed my graphics card to the Nvidia Quadra 4000, I could take advantage of those features.

My questions are – is the card worth the cost in boosted performance?

And, would the Nvidia graphics card allow me to still use FCP7 and Avid Media Composer 6.0.1? I still have clients and projects for which I need to use those two software.

Thanks for your comments and thoughts.

    I double that —

Frank I have the Quadro 4000 and I have all the apps you suggested and they all work just fine –

I went from a GTX 285 card to the Quadro 4000 and could tell a difference–cs6 AE and Premiere run awesome with the card.
