I upgraded from OS9 to OSX.4 and wasn’t able to install M100 8.2.2. Media 100 told me to install it in 10.3 and all will be fine. Still waiting on Panther to arrive.

I took a shot and emailed my problem to customer service at M100 (to try to save the $200 a day support fee). They told me to install Panther and all will be fine. So I guess I’ll buy the OS again and see if that works. I saw below in other posts that people weren’t having any trouble with Tiger or Quicktime7. I wonder, was M100 already installed when they upgraded or did they install M100 under Tiger?

$3000 is pretty high for ebay. The going rate for the G4 is $500-$650 according to everymac.com and a Media100le usually gos for under $500 on ebay. You could probably get a couple of hundred for the drives, monitors and speakers. So realistically, you may get $1500 for the whole thing.

This is an XS I just bought (because it was cheaper than repairing my downed board)- https://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7517559025&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&rd=1

I also removed the firewire card. No luck.

I removed the SCSI card but, that didn’t help. Here are the system specs:
    G4 1.7ghz (Sonnett upgrade)
Radeoen 9000 AGP graphics card 128mb
    1.5gb ram
    OSX Tiger
PCI slots (top to bottom) – 1. Lacie FW800 card (also not showing in system profiler) 2. Media 100 P6000 3. open

I read about the success others have had with Tiger, that’s why I tried to install it under Tiger. I ran the diagnostics off the install CD and the board checks out fine. The board also shows up in the systems profiler. This was the first time I’ve installed this M100 so, I haven’t even entered the system key yet. When I try to launch it, The M100 window appears for a half second then the error 5551 window comes up. There is no other explanation or anything. As far as the SCSI card, I have an ATTO UL2S which I believe is not compatable with Tiger (it doesn’t show up in the system profiler – even with the latest drivers installed) I just purchased a UL3D to remedy that problem, though.
