    YIKES-
    Running 10.3.9

    Old vincent board PCI
    Media 100 8.1.1
    Quicktime 6.5.2
    AE 6.5

Any access to Media 100 files cause the whole compute to crash!
“You have to restart your computer”

If I try to open a Media 100 in Quicktime Player
    or import intop AE…
    Yikes?

    Any solution?

Media 100 i V8.1.1 does not work reliably under OSX 10.3.x; the kernel panics you are seeing are one of the known problems. You should upgrade to V8.2.2 to get this to work. Or install Media 100 sw and export from that. But you should create copies of your timelines since once you saved (or autosaved) them in sw you cannot open them in Media 100 i any longer.

    Thanks…
I guess its time to dip into the old wallet again:)

Don’t you love upgrading to achieve what you already had…

Sure, isn’t that why you upgraded to OSX 10.3 from 10.2?

[matt Short] “its a free download”

It is a free downnload for V8.2 users, but the V8.1->V8.2.x upgrade is not free. You need a new encryption code for that.
