Not sure what you are talking about when you say “using the paint tool”

There are far better ways to whiten teeth though…

Here is my method of choice:

-Turn the magic wand into quick selection tool and select the teeth. You can select them however you want though

-copy and paste the selected teeth

-set blend mode in your layers pallette to screen

-mess around with changing the opacity of new layer, and also using image adjustments on the new layer as well.

There are seriously 30 different ways to whiten teeth, and it would be beneficial for you to try out a few.

You can do some creative dodging, you can use a paint brush with a low opacity, etc… Search on google for teeth whitening tuts.

It took me way to long to figure out how to produce that effect, I had spent hours trying to use the liquify tool before I realized how awesome the warp thing is.

    IShowU HD.

I tried a few different apps, such as camtasias, jing, and Ishow U standard.

IsShowU HD is the way to go, it is incredibly flexible

Type out what you want, rasterize the type layer,

    Edit – Transform – Warp

Just grab the upper and lower corner handles and drag to your hearts content.

It helps to have the grid on, or to make some guides, just to make sure that you warp it evenly.

My guess would be to use a combination of light painting brushes and blend modes, there are a few ways you could go about doing it…

check brusheezy dot com for some brushes that might help, thats where I found mine.

Abraham’s method is a much safer, reliable bet… I just recently upgraded from CS to CS4 and have not gotten used to using non-destructive techniques!

Do not worry, once you get the hang of it, you will be able to accomplish the task ten different ways. Here is what I would do…

-create a new blank layer (command n)
-Delete locked background layer (I always do this)
-use custom shape tool and choose ellipse, make the foreground color white
-Drag it out to the size you want.
    -Layers-rasterize-shape
    -Select the ellipse
-command shift i to invert the selection
    -Selection–modify-feather

mess around with that until you get the desired result.
some of the things may be a bit different depending on version, but that is the overall gist of it

If you guys are watching it in QT, go into settings and make sure the “Use High Quality Settings When available” option box is checked.

Same problem was making me crazy until someone clued me in…
