    Hi Kurt.

The delay you’re seeing is the Invig loading the new global swatches from disk.

If you find that you just don’t need all of them, back up your Zaxwerks Swatches folder
and then delete the swatches you won’t need from within the Invigorator.

    That is:
    – Locate the folder where the Invigorator plug-in is installed
    – Back up the Zaxwerks Swatches folder just in case you want to access them later
    – Open the Invigorator within After Effects
    – Delete the swatches you don’t think you’ll need
    – Note that there are 4 swatch bins (Object Styles, Materials, Lights, and Lighting Styles)

Let us know if you need any more information.

    Hi Kurt.

For the Invigorator 4.x, we’ve moved all of the project swatches into global swatch bins
on your hard drive. These bins get loaded each time the Set-Up window is opened.

One way to speed up the loading of the swatches is to delete the ones that you
    don’t think you’ll need.

A safe way to do this is to first back up your Zaxwerks Swatches folder (located in the
same folder at your Invigorator plug-in) and then use the Set-Up window interface
to delete the swatches you don’t want. Note that there are:
    – Object Style swatches
    – Material swatches
    – Light swatches
    – Lighting Style swatches

If you ever find yourself wanting your old swatches, you can copy the files
from your backup folder into the appropriate swatch folder.

May 17, 2005 at 4:36 pm in reply to: Flag Tracking Error

    Hi Lasvideo.

Actually, I found that tracking is working just fine.

Unfortunately, we were missing a step in the tutorials that use tracking.

To get tracking working, do the following:
    – Open the Effect Controls Window (ECW)
    – Find the Camera & Lights group and open it
    – Click the “Use Comp Camera” checkbox and the “Use Comp Lights” checkbox

Tracking currently only works with Comp Cameras. This is a bug we’ll fix in a future version.

Let me know if this helps you.

    Hi Lasvideo.

I just took a look at the Balloon tutorial and there is indeed a problem
    with layer tracking.

This was working in a pre-release version, so we’ll get a fix into a 3D Flag
    update soon.

Send me an email and I’ll make sure you get a pre-release version once we fix it.

  • Hi Brandon.

If you’re using Invigorator 4.x and ProAnimator 3.x, then there’s a chance we
fixed a bug that made it into Invig 4.x — and will be available in ProAnimator 4.x
    when it is released.

May 16, 2005 at 4:04 pm in reply to: Invigorator layer and other 3D layers overlap ??

    Hi Andy.

There is currently no way to make an AE layer intersect with an Invig layer.

If you’d like your layers to intersect, you can create your 3D layers
in the Invigorator using our Plane primitive. You may use our Layer Map
functionality to texture the Planes with AE layers.

By having everything in the Invigorator, you can make layers/objects intersect
as well as move them in front and/or behind each other.

Let us know if you need more assistance.

May 12, 2005 at 8:00 pm in reply to: Question about Zexworks 3D Flag

    Hi Matt.

There is no furl/unfurl parameter, but you may be able to do
some creative animation of a flagpole to simulate what you want to achieve

For example, you’d have to quickly move your flagpole to the top of the building
and then freeze the flagpole’s position, so that the cloth bunched up and then dropped
down again. I haven’t tried this, but you may have some luck.

    Hi Mark.

The first thing to check is your anti-aliasing settings.

To do this, do the following:
    1. Open the Effect Controls Window (ECW) for your Invig layer.
    2. Open the Invigorator Set-Up window by clicking on the Options button.
    3. Open the Camera tab (below the 3D Preview window).
    4. In the middle of that tab is a menu that usually says something like “3×3 +0.6”.
    5. If it says “No AntiAliasing” then AA is turned off. Select “3×3 +0.6” or another
level that may suit your needs better.
    6. Click OK to close the Options window.
    7. Save your scene and rerender.

If your AA level is not set to “No AntiAliasing” then I’d appreciate it if you
could either send me your .aep file (no media files needed) or
post a picture of what you’re seeing.

    Thanks a lot.
