Hi Mark.

There are times when a valid AI file isn’t selectable by default.

You can choose “Show All Files” in the File Open dialog
in order to select any file.

On the Mac, find the “Enable” menu and select “All files.”
On the PC, find the “Files of type” menu and select “All files.”

Then select your file.

ProAnimator can only retain simple colors from the AI files. It won’t import gradients, patterns, etc.

In most cases, you’ll need to import your artwork and then create materials that give your 3D artwork the look you want.

Which MacIntel do you have?

When you said that you couldn’t use PA without a crash (#2),
what did you mean by that? Could you not bring up the Options
window? Could you not manipulate the scene?
