Hi spunkymonkey.
A few questions:
1. Are you running on the Mac or Windows?
2. When you say, “could get it to register in CS3” – do you mean that you couldn’t use the Demo version? Please describe what you saw. That is, did you see a registration dialog box?
3. Can you send me a file you tried to import? I’d be happy to take a look.
4. Regarding the characters piling up on each other – can you send me a sample project?Send files to: matt@zaxwerks.com
Thanks a lot.

Hi Nate.
Any chance you can send me your movie? And project?

I did the test under Windows and it seemed to work.

Hi Nate.
You may not see the effect of the fadeout when playing the movie back in something like Media Player (it may not properly show the alpha channel that is in the AVI file).
But if you import the AVI file into After Effects (interpret the movie Alpha as: Straight – Unmatted), you should see the effect of the fade.
If this is what you’re doing already, then make sure that you have the “Alpha” checkbox checked within ProAnimator.
Alternatively, you can render using the Animation Quicktime codec. This will achieve a similar result as the Uncompressed AVI.

Hi Dori.
Zaxwerks plug-ins run in Rosetta in AE 7 and natively in CS3.
Since CS3 is Intel native, I’m not sure if you can force the application or plug-ins to run in Rosetta. If you can, though, the latest version should run.
Let us know if you have more questions.

Hi Wildgorilla.
Note: 3D Flag doesn’t work with FCP 5.
Have you already authorized 3D Flag? If not, try applying Flag this way:
1. Add a checkerboard layer to Motion. Select it.
2. In the Library tab, open the Filters> Zaxwerks folder.
3. Click on the 3D Flag filter.
4. Then click on the Apply button at the top of the Library panel (that is, don’t drag the filter over, use the Apply button). If the effect is authorized, it should be applied to the checkerboard. If not, the authorization dialog will be displayed.
Let us know if this works and if you still have problems.
Thanks.

Thanks for the update, Scott.
We’ve recently found that there are two graphics card-related things you can do to reduce Invig/PA crashes:
1. Update your graphics card driver. We don’t do anything crazy with OpenGL, but there seems to be scenarios where our drawing routines conflict with some graphics cards.2. On Windows, you can reduce your graphics acceleration. This probably won’t affect any of your actual graphics performance, but it can reduce/remove some Invig/PA crashes. To find out more information, go to the Zaxwerks Troubleshooting page.

Hi Jay.
If I understand your question properly, you can make your
objects larger in the Comp by opening the PA Set-Up (Options)
window and moving your camera closer to the objects.Does this answer your question? Let us know if it doesn’t.

Hi Jay.
Glintworks is a 2D effect that can be applied over PA — just as it can be placed over any layer.
It does not get applied as a 3D effect.

Hi Chandra.
The output in the 3D Preview window is not anti-aliased. It is for preview purposes only.
In order to achieve better output, you’ll have to render your scene out to a movie.
If you have rendered to a movie and still see the aliasing, let me know. You may have to adjust your anti-aliasing settings.
Also, if you can send me (or post to the forums) a screen shot of your problem, it would be helpful. Send files to: matt@zaxwerks.com
Thanks.
