June 13, 2014 at 4:50 pm in reply to: Lathe Object Build Angles

    Hi Austin.

There does seem to be some incorrect geometric artifacts at the end of the build angles.
This seems to be a bug.

As a workaround, you may try to create your lathe shapes centered around the X axis.

You’ll have to further adjust your scene, but you should be able to get rid of the artifacts
until a fix can be sent out.

Let us know if you have any other questions.

    Thanks.

January 24, 2014 at 5:18 pm in reply to: Font issue

    Hi Kolin.

In ProAnimator, you can use most TrueType fonts, but not all work.

If there’s a particular font that you’d like to use, but ProAnimator
can’t process it properly, you can do the following as a workaround:
    – Create the text in Illustrator
    – Convert the text to outlines
    – Save the Illustrator file (turn off compression when saving the file)
    – Import the Illustrator file inside of ProAnimator

Let us know if you have additional questions.
Also, if you have a particular font that you’d like for us to investigate,
    let us know its name.

    Thanks.

December 17, 2013 at 12:38 am in reply to: i think i’m doing something wrong can’t see my work

    Hi Jeff and Page.

I believe there was an compatibility issue between our software and After Effects,
which caused a black screen after exiting the Set-Up window.

This bug has been fixed in the latest release (which may not be officially released yet).

Please email ed@zaxwerks.com for the most current version.
Let him know which OS you’re using (Windows) and which product you’re using.
I’ve let him know to expect your email.

Let us know if the latest version fixes your problem.

    Hi Craig.

I can’t off hand why your project rendering would slow down based on what you’ve done.
However, if you can send me your project (just the .aep project – no media files necessary),
I’d be happy to take a look. Perhaps there’s a feature being used that is causing the slowdown.

    Hi Holt.

Please email the list of plug-ins that you have.
We’ll get you versions that don’t conflict.
There’s a low-level technical reason that this conflict
sometimes occurs on some Mac machines.

Send the list (include version numbers) to: matt (at) zaxwerks.com

    Thanks.

    Hi Holt.

Please check your /Applications/Adobe After Effects CC/Plug-ins folder.
Are there two Zaxwerks ProAnimator folders?
Do you have any other Zaxwerks plug-ins installed?
If so, try moving the other Zaxwerks plug-ins to your Desktop and try again.
Move them back if it doesn’t make a difference.

    Let’s see if there’s a conflict.

    Hello Holt.

Could you provide some info on your setup?
    – Are you using the current version of AE (12.0.0.404)?
    – Did the installation of PA go ok?
    – What are the details of your machine?
       – Mac Pro? iMac? MacBook?
       – How much RAM
       – What type of GPU?

Finally, how do you apply the effect? And what exactly do you see when you apply it?

    Thanks.

July 23, 2013 at 11:34 pm in reply to: 3D Preview blurred + 16 bit support?

    Hi Hans.

In regard to the blurred texture problem,
I think you’re seeing how we create low-ish resolution
preview textures for the objects in OpenGL. By default, we create
    256×256 textures for our objects.

You can change the size of these proxy images
on a per-Material basis or globally for any
    newly-created materials.

Note that the preview resolution doesn’t affect the
quality of the final rendering when using the Invigorator
or the Ray Tracer renderers. These renderers will always
use the full resolution of any images you use.

There are two places to look:
    For a specific Material
If you open the Material in the Material Editor,
you can specifically set the shader preview Texture size
by clicking on the Texture Preview Size button next to the
        Material Swatch.

You can set the preview size for this material.

    Globally
Open the Invig Preferences dialog inside the Invig Set-Up window.
        (Cmd+, on the Mac).
Look for the item labeled Shader Texture Width/Height.
Change these values to globally set any newly-created materials.

Let us know if this relates to what you’re seeing, or if you have further questions.

    Hi James.

    Please tell us the following:
    – Which version of the Invig you’re using
    – Which version of After Effects you’re using
    – Mac or Windows?

Also, if you can email me your project, I’d be happy to take a look.
Just the .aep file should be enough.

    Thanks.

    Hi Cliff.

You can rescale the .3DS files when importing them into the Invigorator.
Look for a Scale percentage in the Import dialog.

As for the material issue, perhaps you can send us a sample project
with a texture or two and a screenshot so that we can see what you’re
    trying to do.
