    Hi Jeff,
It is Windows, Premiere CS5 and we have also tried it on a different machine with CS6.

Thank you for the instruction, will give it a try how you explained.

    Cheers

November 7, 2011 at 7:53 am in reply to: Premiere Titler Sluggish and Laggy

    Hi Todd,
Thanks for your reply. I have narrowed it down to the fonts I was using in the particular title. They are free fonts I downloaded and seem to be the problem. If I create a title with a more standard font it operates fine with no lag.

So any idea’s what would make a font so difficult for the titler to work with?

To answer your questions, yes I have updated. I am running CS5 on Windows 7 64bit. I am not using mercury playback. System specs are average but haven’t had any problems until now.

    Core i7-860
    4Gb ddr3

    Thanks
    Matt

    Hi Ben,
Thanks heaps for your reply. I have changed the project to 32bit without any notable change to the banding.

I have had a look at adding grain, could you please let me know typically which functions on the add grain effect you would adjust to smooth out the banding. Sorry I am fairly new to AE and I realise every scenario is different but wondering if you could point me in the right direction.

    I really appreciate your time,
    Matt

Ok so it does sound tricky but hopefully we can point you in the right direction. A few more questions:

    1) From which perspective is the camera looking at the hand & ball(could you provide some screen shots? You can email me direct korshispossumfilms@gmail.com)
    2) Could you show me a reference images of the type of orb you wish to create, if you have one?
3)Will the Orb be transperent at all?

It could well be a combination of keying and tracking depending on the look you are after. I need a little more info before providing any ideas. Could you describe how the camera moves, for example does the camera orbit around your hand or is from one angle etc.

    Cheers
    Matt

Could you provide more information. Does the camera move in the shot or is it locked off. How much does your hand move in the shot? Have you already successfully tracked the green ball?

If you are on CS5 you can open the red file directly into After Effects and key from there, no conveeting needed. Or if that is too heavy a TIF sequence exported from Redcine could be good alternative.

Sorry not sure why Premiere is freezing during render, but if need be you could open the Premiere project in After Effects and try render out from there.

Yea I will have another look at adobe forums. My symptoms seem to closely match the ‘file bloating’ bug except my project file itself dosents bloat. So unusual.
    Cheers for input,
    Matt
