Thanks Ryan, I am aware of the 180 degree shutter rule and how it works. This truly is great information, but I suppose I worded the question incorrectly. I had shot my slow motion at 60fps with a 1/120 shutter in the past, but I was wondering if it would be safe to shoot at a much higher shutter speed say 1/2000, or could that give some serious stuttering in post. I am aware of Twixtor, but would rather go with what I have (CS6 Suite) Can I utilize Premiere (or AE) shooting with a 1/2000 shutter, and still obtain some solid slow-mo?

Again, apologies for not properly wording my question.

    Solved!

I used the AVCCAM Restorer found on the link posted by Daniel:

    https://sites.google.com/site/karstenschluter/mts-to-mov

I then used the Log and Transfer method with Final Cut, and it worked! The software restored the folder structure found on the SD Card, and essentially “fooled” FCP into thinking I was transferring directly from an the original card. Brilliant! Thank you all again for the direction!

Oh and I still love Adobe Premiere, too 🙂

    Thanks Stephen,

    Your tutorials rock, btw.

My graphics created in Motion are using the Broadcast SD preset, (720×486) and without a doubt look the best (output) when imported into 720×480 timeline, w/ Apple ProRes as my compressor…maybe thats normal I don’t know.

What method do you guys use for roundtrip from Motion to FCP. I typically use the Apple recommended way, Drag the .motn project file into FCP Browser, then drag into FCP sequence. Make changes in Motion>render in FCP, done. Is that how most do it?

October 13, 2011 at 2:40 am in reply to: Mograph tags issue?

Sorry, forgot you can’t post links to youtube.

I added a cube primitive to a cloner object

Made the cloner object editable, and added Mograph rigid body tags to each cube. Added a floor, mograph rigid body tag, as well.

I intended to test the dynamics engine, to see how the cubes would react, but nothing happened when I added the tags to the cloned objects, and moved along the timeline. I tried quitting and re-opening 4d, restarting the computer, changing my scene..etc. No go. Everything else seems to work fine, no issues.

Am I missing a step, I am kinda green in 4D? But online tutorials (r11.5) say it should work.

Yeah, I did. Compression issue possibly? Should I use something other than H264?

Thanks for all the responses guys, very much appreciated! To answer the questions regarding the frame rate and Fox Sports, the idea was initially based upon the fact we won’t be shooting a whole lot of action, rather a piece on the players, culture, college life, and even a bit on the university itself, with focus on the JC transfers and how they fit in. It will not be a film with a wealth of action on the field.
I really appreciate the input, and we will probably not be using the DSLR (most likely one of the Sony HVRs,meh). Thanks again.
