Tried to do a sequence customized to the exact frame size of the DPX-files.
Same old, same old. No realtime playback.
So, next question. If I set up the HD-timeline now and do all the resizing-stuff (but not the cc and other FX which are on there) and render this out to a new HD-sized DPX-sequence, can I import this again and get back the settings of my previous timeline, e.g. already done FX and CC?

thanks for your reply. Sadly everything is correctly switched and configured to 4:4:4, so that’s not it.

As of my further testing the demo version of SoftronMovieRecorder also doesn’t allow the desired functionality.

And it looks suspiciously like a spiced up version of AJA VTRExchange, or better, the other way around, VTRExchange looks like a dumbed down version of the MovieRecorder.

it’s really not a bad bad noise, just what you get when you have a decent mic and a quit location and then listen very carefully. I by now found a free Noise-Gate AU called Zimple-Gate, which I will test, but it looks as if this is exactly what is needed.

Hey Andrew,

It’s an Avid Media Composer installed on a G5-system equipped with a Composite-Mojo.
I will prepare the system on Monday, so I can choose the version of OS and I think we have a dongle for MC 3, not sure if it’s a 4-version already.

Well, yes,

I could recapture about 90min worth 4-second clips from out of about 300 tapes, but I’d rather go the route converting the stuff I already have on my harddrives. 🙂
So, it seems nobody has any idea.

I’m on the same machine and just installed a new Nvidia 8800GT, which is available from Apple for two weeks now, so this is what’s nominally the fastest, even though there are reports with the new MacPro that the 2600 is faster in Color and Motion, but I think this will be solved with new updates.
