I am actually scaling most of the clips from 4k to 1080. I’ll try without the gpu acc next time. Thanks for the suggestion!

OK, so I got the info on the LED panels.

    Chauvet PVP S5 5mm LED (96X96 pixels)

The setup is 2 panels high by 32 long. Hopefully this provides the complete info to help me!

  • Soooo, here’s what I came up with using Particular.

    Floating Prayers

I just created 2 different Particular layers and used the “wind” to push the words in towards the logo. I really don’t like how it’s working, but I didn’t know how else to funnel the words in towards the logo. I was originally thinking that I could use the logo as my emitter and then spread the particles out as they dropped down but I was having trouble figuring that out.

I would like to be able to zoom pretty close to the words at first to emphasize what they are and their meaning then gradually pull back to include the logo “fill-up”. On the back side I’d like the words to empty out of the top of the logo and up and away.

    Thoughts?

  • So you’re just saying to keyframe each word along a path and then repeat over and over to fill the logo? I was hoping to have this take about 30 seconds to achieve. It’s to be used as a “non-intrusive” kind of a background during an event.

  • Thanks Jonathon!

I made some headway on this after I posted. I was able to recreate it just the way they had it doing just about exactly what you said.

I’ll take any suggestions you have on improvements though cause I don’t really like it either!

    Ha!

December 7, 2014 at 1:57 pm in reply to: How to embed some videos in sides of this 3D logo?

So I guess I need to create a model of my logo in another program like blender? or maya?

Maybe it’s easier to ask this way….

I’d like to create an intro like the Batman movie from 1989. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Puu_vm3Jcz4

From there I want to “embed” some highlight clips into the walls of the logo I’ve extruded using element. All I did though to create the element layer was copy the paths in from the Illustrator file and paste them to the layers I used for Element in AE.

January 23, 2013 at 4:05 pm in reply to: How can I open this type of file in PPro CS6?

Thanks to those who responded. Even after installing the P2 codec I was unable to open the files. It turned out to be an easy solve in that I simply had the client send me the original P2 files from the camera to another external hd and ship it overnight again. The first batch I was able to confirm was exported out of FCP in the QT format. But I guess PPro doesn’t have the codec to support it.

Again thanks to those who took the time to respond here. I’ve always had good advice and help from the Cow!

I’m on a PC, maybe that’s the issue? Do you have FCP on you Mac? If so, I read that having FCP installed will make the appropriate codec files available for PPro to import.

I’m trying to avoid having FCP on my machine… or having to spend the money on FCP is a better way to put it I guess.

September 21, 2012 at 7:38 pm in reply to: Faking a translucent window

Thanks for the quick response! I took a look and the tutorial will be helpful.

Take a look at this link: https://www.wallpaperforwindows.com/pc/catalog/eabamboo-1-st_prv.jpg

I guess I should have done this in the first place.

I’ll be showing how the film on the left provides privacy because it is frosted or translucent while the film on the right is transparent (minus the opaque bamboo graphics). So I was going to just shoot a guy walking toward the camera and acting as though he were looking through the window. Then just overlay the transparent version, apply mask paths and then add effects to the transparent space to create the translucent layer… make more sense?
