I figured it out. It was a pixel aspect ratio issue, but it wasn’t corrected by changing the pixel aspect ratio preview thing. I just had my composition set to NTSC DV Widescreen, 720×480… instead of just using NTSC DV, 720×480, which is the normal setting for that size comp.

It’s mostly a ram issue. If you have a powerbook g4 with 512mb of ram of course AE will run slowly. But if you have 2gb of ram it should run quite smoothly. It is also a hard drive issue though. I mean, if you have a powerbook with only 10gb’s left on the hard drive everything is going to run slowly. I say that if you have to go the laptop route definetly get a 15″ or 17″ powerbook g4 with atleast 1.5gigs of ram (believe me, getting a good workspace in AE on a 12″ powerbook is nearly impossible). Don’t get a MacBook until Adobe releases all of the new software.

Notice how the right angles of the rectangle are no longer right angles when I totate the object. Also notice that the object’s 3D switch isn’t even on, and there are no cameras. And lastly, notice how skinny the object is at 90

I tried this, and it has no effect on the problem.

    Quote (Dave LaRonde):
“Heck, I’d just shoot it. There’s no reason not to do so. That way, you get what you want.”

Didn’t you read the part where he said “I don’t have the budget nor the time to shoot it”? I would look on artbeats.com … but you probably already have.

Thank you for your help, it worked… but since this project is due in about 5 hours I panicked and just exported the full project from FCP and imported it into AE and started laying the title comps over it. It worked, but it sure was a pain. Thank you both though, I’ll definitely need to know that for future projects.
