Ok. So when I give them a reference Offline cut, that can just be in 29.97 as well? They shouldn’t have any timing problems with that if they dig that into a 59.94 timeline?

Right, well, there’s another question. I know I won’t be able to capture the 720p tapes (which are on D5, I should have mentioned), but
1.) is there a way to dub D5 tapes with that time code to a DV tape and force (clone) the time code to match?

And 2.) is there a way to capture the DV tapes with 29.97 timecode and somehow tell FCP or convert the footage in a way to match its 59.94 source tapes?

Thanks for your all your help guys. I finally ended up using Compressor to make the combined file (which wouldn’t open in quicktime) and then MPEG Streamclip to mux the file into a viewable file. Don’t know if this is the easiest way, but it worked.

So I tried it in Cleaner 6, with the Program stream and I’m getting a lot of compression artifacts (although they play randomly, not always in the same place). What settings should I use in Compressor?

Will I apply the “Program” setting in Compression as well?

I believe it’s 5.1.1. Again, I’m new to ProTools. I’m an Avid/FCP guy. I’m not even sure where ProTools is at now (I believe they are beyond “Version” Numbers?) I had an audio engineer come in to teach me the system about a year ago, and he was getting frustrated with the rig, so I assume it’s a few versions back.

Anyway, thanks for your guys help. Don’t be surprised to see me here again.

    Thanks for the advice.

Also, I’d love to RTFM, but this system was put in so long ago, I’d have to get my Latin dictionary out. Just kidding, I’m just a picture editor, trying to keep from sinking in the audio room.

    Thanks for your guys’ help.

Yeah, I’m still running into the same problem. I cut it out as a large image, but when i shrink it down, the matte stays the same size. so then I have to go in and re-set the matte. Is there anyway to cut it out and then be able to treat the cut-out as it’s own independent layer you can resize? Like a title matte?

Or can I only do this if I import it with an alpha etc.?
