Hi there, Just been looking to do much the same process myself… To output DPX sequence from after effetcs, select output format as “Cineon Sequence” – then inside “cineon settings” you can select file format as DPX.

For your effects, I can’t see a way of outputting split FX when you’r using layer modes etc. You could give the grader your project (pre-render FX layers so no plugin problems)- but it’s unlikely they grade in same software that you’re using…

Simpler would be for you to apply FX to pre-graded footage… then you can give back effects burnt into the picture… Grader could then do a final pass over your DPX sequence.

    Hope it goes well,
    Matt

  • Hi there, I’ve imported an old Premiere CS2 project into CS4, which now defaults to an interlaced timeline rather than progressive.

Any idea on how to move DVD markers from one sequence to another? – I have about a 1hr edit with 80 or so markers (and this isn’t the first time I’ve bumped into this problem)

    Many thanks for your help,
    Matt.

Sorry, I should add that the CPU usage while playing RAM preview is only 29%
AE is set to maximun 2gb RAM and disk caching is disabled.

    Thanks.

    Hi Tim,

Yes I am watching the HD analogue component output on a Sony Multiformat PVM-D20L5A monitor.
When I disable the Xena monitor output the playback on the computer screen is realtime.

    Cheers,
    Matt

Thanks for your help, unfortunately I have tried everything you suggest with no change in results.

1920×1080 29.97i project RAM preview plays back at 8.4fps!
1280X720 29.97p project RAM preview plays at 15.7fps!

When I disable the Xena output the RAM preview playback is realtime (by unchecking ‘playback’ in the AJA Preview window)

This isn’t even close, where to from here?

    Thanks,
    Matt

    Hi Chad,
I’m in the process of setting up Aja & Cineform, so haven’t tested too much yet. I discussed this exact question with Cineform tech support. They said to install the trial and then uninstall, when uninstalling it will prompt you to leave the codec on the computer. This I understand won’t expire and will allow playback of cineform on that computer (I don’t know if it will allow encoding I haven’t tested it)

Hope this is of some use.

    cheers,
    Matt

June 16, 2006 at 10:45 am in reply to: Decklink support for Cineform Prospect HD on WinXP

Hi, I did contact Cineform, they said there aren’t any current plans for Decklink on PC, but pushed the Aja Xena solution… I gather from what they said that it wouldn’t be impossible on Decklink architecture – just very time consuming and would require assistance of Blackmagic etc – so if anyone from BM is watching how about it?
