Do you use any extensions like Vegasaur, VASST, Timeline Tools, etc? It is possible that for some new reason the extensions are processing internal events too slowly and are resetting the cursor back to a position one step behind timeline actions (although I only know for certain that Timeline Tools could do this.)

The “Ignore Event Grouping” button is what you are looking for. CTRL+SHIFT+U is the default keyboard shortcut to toggle it on and off. With it on only events that are selected are copied.

With each update of Sony Vegas 12 the tolerance for non-standard MP4 sizes has been getting worse. Build 770 of Vegas 12 has finally broken completely.

Any MP4 that has a size that is not equally divisible by 4 will show green. (1366 / 4 = 341.5) If you can find Build 367 of Vegas 12 all MP4s were working. MP4s of standard sizes (1280×720 etc) still work correctly.

I am not sure if this is intentional or not because for four revision updates Sony has not tried to fix it.

I had to go back to build 376 to get a project I am working on to render without hanging. Yet build 376 crashed on timeline edits a few times and I have not had one timeline crash in 770. So I think the answer to your question may depend on what kind of projects and media you are working with. What does your average project consist of?

The way YouTube works right now it will not be much of a problem for you. When you upload the video YouTube analyzes all the audio and picks out the songs. It will then give you a copyright notice. As long as that song is managed by one of the two or three tracking services and the song is allowed (which is pretty much 95 percent of anything that might be played at a wedding) all you have to do is click “I Acknowledge” on the copyright page notice and they will not take down the video.

What this does, however, is make it impossible to claim this video as your own for purposes of monetization within YouTube. I am guessing that you do not post these videos to make money off them. If you do post them with the idea of using them with the ad service then there is nothing that can be done.

I see the confusion now. The item you have highlighted in the features list is not the the plug in. It refers to this.

This seems to describe the problem.

Ah.. I think I have it figured out. Elastique is a Sound Forge plugin that Vegas also recognizes.

Well that is interesting. What country are you in? Where did you purchase Sony Vegas? That plug in does not seem to be present in all distributions of Vegas (and judging from Ron’s post his does not have it either.)

Graham Bernard is using a third party plugin not a native one.

    This one: Elastique Pitch

The native Vegas pitch shift plugin does not support automation.
