Video file plays fine in Sony Vegas 11 but not in 12
Hello,
I have some in-game recorded videos and I am using Sony Vegas to edit them.
So far, I have been using Sony Vegas 11, but lately I found out there was a newer version (12) and decided to give it a try.
However, there’s a problem: When I import my video file into version 12, all I see is just a green screen. The audio plays fine, but the screen is just solid green. I have tried importing multiple clips, but they all had the same result.
I then tried to load the exact same files in version 11, and there it worked perfectly.So my question is: what can I do to let those videos load correctly in version 12?
Here’s some info that you might find useful:
I never installed any codecs, all I have are “default” ones (I guess that’s what they are, right?)
I am running Windows 8.1 64bit. My Sony Vegas 12 version is 12.0.770, and my 11 version is 11.0.701.

With each update of Sony Vegas 12 the tolerance for non-standard MP4 sizes has been getting worse. Build 770 of Vegas 12 has finally broken completely.
Any MP4 that has a size that is not equally divisible by 4 will show green. (1366 / 4 = 341.5) If you can find Build 367 of Vegas 12 all MP4s were working. MP4s of standard sizes (1280×720 etc) still work correctly.
I am not sure if this is intentional or not because for four revision updates Sony has not tried to fix it.

You are correct Matt, build 714 is what iam currently using
and the only one i choose, because it is rock solid, and handles
MP4 quite well… So that’s the version you should try Oren.Steve Rhoden
