    Hey,

Don’t know if this is possible, but what I sometimes need to do is copy in order to duplicate a single clip out of a group of clips I have made in Sony Vegas. As an example, because “clip” isn’t clear, sometimes I group a audio clip with a video clip, but then need to use the audio clip exactly as it is with another video clip (so I can’t just take the clip from project media, as might have shortened / faded it on timeline). I want to be able to just copy the audio and paste it elsewhere on the timeline without having to hit U to ungroup it from the video clip then copy it, then paste it, then regroup it with G back onto the video clip again.

Is there a way of just copying a single clip from a group of clips without ungrouping basically?

    Yes.

Double Click the wanted audio which will determine a timed Selection. Then Right Click on that audio Selection and “Open in Trimmer“. This will show the same timed audio Selection in Trimmer. Now Drag or Copy the Audio Selection from the Trimmer to where you want it on the Timeline. Your original Grouped Events will remain in tack and you’ll have that Audio copied to where you want it – no need to UnGroup at all.

The “Ignore Event Grouping” button is what you are looking for. CTRL+SHIFT+U is the default keyboard shortcut to toggle it on and off. With it on only events that are selected are copied.

Matt, I read that the OP doesn’t wish to Ungroup, which is why I proffered the method I outlined.
