Well, I hit a wall today… 59,94fps media imported and conformed inside a 23,98fps timeline doesn´t show up in DaVinci Resolve (9.1.5 and FCP 10.0.8).
We don´t use Resolve in our company, we use Scratch, but I was running some test today and I found this and looks like it´s a common problem. Which I wouldn´t have if I conformed the files using CinemaTools before editing. Finally I exported an Apple ProRes 422 (HQ) file to Scratch to grade (media was shot with a 5D MarkIII).
Does any of you know a good (free) alternative to just change the header of the quicktime file?

You can download the codecs by themself and install them using “unpkg” > https://www.timdoug.com/unpkg/
They have to be installed in the “Library/Quicktime” folder.

I have:
F5: Expand/Collaps Audio Components.
F6: Expand all Audio/Video Clips.
F7: Expand Audio/Video for Splits.

Did he install the ProApps codecs?

If he didn’t install that and your quicktime files were created with one of those codecs, he won’t see anything in those files.

I’ve been using this app for months, works great and it gives you all the possible codecs and framesizes… and it’s free. Then I use Mpeg Streamclip to convert from H264 to Apple ProRes 422 to edit in FCP7 (but that step is not necessary in FCPx).

You can set a new role for each audio track, then in the Share Master File settings window, set the roles as multitrack quicktime movie, it will create a quicktime movie with 8 audio channels.
It would be great if you fill a feedback form to Apple about this.
