Try this.
1. Try changing your “Fast Previews” settings (it’s the little button that looks like a lightning bolt at the bottom of your comp window) between Open GL and adaptive resolution… see what works best.
2. Keep in mind that AE doesn’t work well with h264 video or mp3 files. So if you are working with either, convert them to a different codec like a .wav for audio… for video I work mainly with Apple Pro Res, since I assume you are on a PC and I only use my PC for 3ds programs I’m not really up to date on the best codec for PC video. I am sure someone else can give you a good one. In the meantime, try either jpeg or animation compression on your video for testing. They work well in AE.
Hope that helps.

I don’t really understand your question either. So I’ll give it a try.
Maybe you need to press the “continuously rasterize” button on your pre-comp.
It’s the button in the red box on the left side of this image.

Save yourself the trouble and use the “CC Light Sweep” effect.
More controls, much better way of doing it. The effect is pretty self explanatory once applied.

You can try “Change to color” but most likely won’t work too well.
Without seeing anything I will only say that it can usually be done in color finesse, just play around with it more.
If you have to roto… rotoing a tool is a solid shape that never really changes that much… so shouldn’t be too bad in Mocha.

You need to pick-whip the scale value on all of the duplicate layers to the scale value of a comp that you choose to be the parent of all layers, and then animate the scale of only that master layer.

To expand on what Kevin said.
Keep in mind that the keyframes for masks always represent all the points on the mask. There is not a way to individually have a keyframe for each individual point on any given mask…
At least not that I know of… and I’ve never had a need to.

I cannot think of a better way to do it than by hand.
You may be able to set up some simple expression controls to aid your animation… but beyond that I think it would take one hell of a script.
And I know of no plugins for that.
My 2 cents
