    Hi All,

I’m curious as to if there is a way to duplicate and space a comp through and effect or expression.

Example: Let’s say I have a comp of a circle with a simple scale animation. I would want this comp duplicate 50 times and set in a grid fashion 10 across and 5 down. And if I edit the original animation all duplicates would update as well.

    Any help would be fantastic.

    Thanks

You need to pick-whip the scale value on all of the duplicate layers to the scale value of a comp that you choose to be the parent of all layers, and then animate the scale of only that master layer.

This is made much easier with the new “property link” feature in After Effects CC (12.1), due out next week:

Try the new Copy With Property Links command with the new update, available now.
