  • Thanks for the reply Stephen.

The board will actually go off the screen edges at times so If we were to used a board like this – https://grab.by/80Bg I could use the crosses to track from and place the overlaid image up to the blue border?

Will the tracker completely distort the image to nothing as the board is flipped horizontally?

    Cheers

    M

OK, after i turned off fcp colour support in QT and nothing happened, when i turned it back on it did correct the issue. Either I have had far too much rum or it wasn’t turned on in the first place (im sure it was as I haven’t even started on the rum yet) or something screwy was happening to QT. either way its all good now.

    Thanks

Jeremy, thanks for the reply. I certainly have, although unchecking it didnt seem to change anything!

I think i have the culprit though, it is just quicktimes rendition of the video thats off, in this screengrab VLC is at the top and QT is at the bottom, a massive difference.

As long as you want to apply your default transition (normally set to cross fade) make sure your play line is right at the beginning of your sequence, select all and drag up to the timeline viewer and drop on overwrite with transition.

Thanks Jerry, is there anything else I need to consider before deciding on one option?

one other thing, I do have an external SATA dock that can take 1 drive at a time so that is another option.

OK, thanks for the feedback guys.

I’m pretty new to motion so most things are an uphill struggle at the moment. Would it be best to do all of this in one video or break it down into separate pieces?

    Thanks Dave,

As mentioned above I have a very basic working knowledge of the packaged applications. I have only recently moved from Sony vegas on the pc to FCP on the mac

Great, thanks for that. i was racking my brains for a while!

I am very new to FCP and have only really played around with the core abilities of FCP and color. I will get to grips with motion for this project though. Thanks

Apple would have to be pretty short sighted to release an update to FCP this close to their first fully 64bit OS without building full 64bit support into it.

They are not that short sighted are they????
